Supporting over 250,000 school governors and trustees across England; the NGA has used digital technology to transform service delivery, operating efficiency and membership engagement.

The National Governance Association (NGA) represents and supports governors and trustees from all state-funded schools in England; both maintained schools and academies.

As the leading independent source of information, support and learning for all those involved in school governance, their strategic use of digital technology is mission-critical to success.

Confronted with rising OpEx costs, increased membership expectations and an ageing CRM platform, the NGA turned to digital technology to deliver their strategic business plan.

The Project

The NGA’s previous website, built-in 2014, did not afford the organisation with dynamic competencies that would improve holistic performance. Likewise, their previous CRM platform was dated and failed to offer website integration opportunities.

After contacting several digital agencies, the NGA appointed Dreamscape as their transformation partner due to our sector experience, technology expertise and integration capabilities.

Deploying the new website on Kentico CMS has enabled a multitude of performance improvements for the NGA, with streamlined subscription payments and membership self-serve functionality being of particular note.

By integrating the website directly to their back-office CRM platform, the NGA has been able to replace administration with automation, leading to a significant reduction in admin overheads.

With staff costs exceeding £1.2m across a headcount of 35, the nett effect of using automation to achieve operational efficiency is expected to be transformational for the organisation.

Using the website to streamline and optimise membership sign-up, the NGA has been able to increase subscriptions by 9.2%, taking revenue from £1,026,539 to £1,121,059.
