In traditional Dream Team fashion, for any new starter who joins the team, we like to ask a few questions to get to know them a little better.
Mike has joined Dreamscape with several years of development experience, and we’re delighted to welcome him to our team. He has a great attention to detail and has the ability to produce some really impressive looking websites.
Let's get down to the stuff you really want to know...
What do you enjoy most about working in website development?
I enjoy the satisfaction of providing a great service for customers, whether it's building a website from scratch or making small changes. The idea of turning a static design into an interactive website is very satisfying and with all websites being different you never get bored of doing it. I also enjoy the learning aspect of web development, as new trends, coding techniques, functionalities and more are constantly developing and you have to keep on top of that.
What are you most looking forward to in your role?
As above, web development is my passion and every company does it differently so coming to Dreamscape and building with platforms I have never used before is exciting for me. I'm also looking forward to becoming familiar with clients and having that personal touch as I believe that results in an even bigger drive to provide the complete service.
What are some small things that make your day better?
Coffee! I couldn't function without the stuff. During this current heatwave, a fan certainly comes in handy as well! Some of Luke's outfit choices have certainly made my day better since I've been here
What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?
Most weekends I have a set routine; Saturday mornings I play golf, followed by football in the afternoon and usually a few beers with the football lads on a Saturday night (if I'm allowed!). Sunday is the family day most of the time so it's either round to my parent's house or my sisters for lunch or out and about with the family somewhere.
How do you relax after a hard day of work?
Having a 1-year-old son and a 10-year-old step-daughter doesn't really allow me any time to relax until after 8pm! Once they have gone to bed I usually enjoy a nice glass of red wine or a cold beer with my feet up, especially at the moment with the World Cup and of course Love Island.
Where is the best place in the world you’ve been?
Tough one! I tend to visit Orlando every year as my best friend lives there and I love everything it has to offer especially the golf courses and the theme parks. In terms of enjoyment, Marbella is definitely my favourite and for sightseeing, I would have to say Paris, especially over New Year, it's the most unbelievable experience I've had abroad.
