Welcome to the team, Rachel!

Rachel is our new creative content & engagement manager, joining the Marketing Dream Team! Let’s jump right in and get to know Rachel a bit better...

Why did you choose a career in Marketing?

Since I was little, I’ve always loved reading and writing, but I never knew how it would translate into a job when I was older. In college, I remember doing a module on the creative genius of Coca Cola’s Christmas ad. It’s the perfect ad, it’s timeless, saves the brand money and everyone sees it as a signpost that marks the start of Christmas. That one advert made me realise the power of marketing. I also love how fun and creative it is! I’m always getting inspiration from other brands.

What are you most looking forward to in your role at Dreamscape?

There’s such a diverse range of clients at Dreamscape; I’m excited to get stuck into getting to know their business inside out. So I can create the best content for them and their customers. I’m also keen to learn new skills too!

Do you have any pets? Tell us about them

I have a one-year-old yellow Labrador called Gus. He’s absolutely wild but brings so much fun to my day. He’s so big and still acts like a lapdog, not ideal when he weighs nearly 40kg!

Which movie have you seen recently or what are you watching on Netflix?

I watch that many tv shows I think I might be on my way to completing Netflix. I’m constantly re-watching old favourites like Shameless or Scrubs, but my current obsessions are Below Deck, Selling Sunset and The Fall. I’ve heard great things about Ratched and The social dilemma documentary too which is on my list!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

When I’m not spending time with my dog, friends or family, I’m usually planning my next holiday, reading a book, watching tv shows or decorating the house I just bought.

Do you cook? What’s your favourite recipe?

Cooking is my way to relax, especially on a weekend when I’ve got more time and a glass of wine in my hand. I’m quite good at baking banana bread, which never lasts more than 24 hours once it’s out of the oven. I also love homemade nachos topped with chorizo, cheese and all the dips; it’s such an easy dinner that looks like you’ve put lots of effort into.

If you could learn a new skill in 10 minutes, what would it be?

I’ve always wanted to learn a new language and speak it fluently. I love travelling, so being able to talk to anyone would be amazing. I don’t know how many languages there are in the world, but if I was able to learn them all in 10 minutes I’d want to use my time for this!
