Achieving a work-life balance is tough but really important
“Sometimes balancing work and life can feel like a juggling act. You have to make sure you remember everything needed to keep your home running smoothly whilst also ensuring you deliver on time with all work commitments and deadlines.
Since becoming a single mum these challenges have stepped up a notch making it really important to plan ahead. I am extremely lucky to have a very supportive mum, I probably couldn't work full time without her help and support. She lightens my load by taking my son to appointments, supporting the school run, horsing riding lessons, the list goes on, but by doing that she helps me to ensure my career doesn't take a back seat.
In order to be a successful working woman I have my priorities in order – both personal and professional. I've found the key to achieving a healthy balance has been to be super organised. Plan, plan, plan but be prepared to be flexible and make constant adjustments, compromises and sacrifices as life doesn't always run as smoothly as we would like.
I have been with Dreamscape for only three months now but by having an organised mindset has helped me jump straight in supporting the business to streamline key project processes. The team here at Dreamscape are committed to hitting deadlines which provides them with a greater understanding than most on why these processes are there to assist them in continuing to achieve which makes my job a whole lot easier.
I love being a mum but equally love working, work enables me to be me and not just mum. You get the opportunity to work with lots of talented and like minded people who within time you get the pleasure to call them friends.
